Kaufman killers finally warned and cautioned

POLICE have finally warned and cautioned suspects linked to the killing of Chingola business executive Mervin Kaufman whose manhood was cut, for the offence of murder.
Mr Kaufman the proprietor of Kauftech, Kaufman Ltd and Cartek body & Spray is alleged to have been killed by his Zambian wife Peggy Meleka Kaufman and her sister Emily on November 24, 2012.

Police sources have told The Independent Observer that the investigating team had established sufficient evidence for Meleka and her sister to be warned and cautioned for allegedly killing Mr Kaufman of South African origin who had invested in Zambia.

However, the sources emphacised that the investigations were not over and on top of their agenda was the medical doctor at Nchanga South Mine hospital who is alleged to have connived with Meleka  37, to sign on the death certificate that Mr Kaufman had died of pneumonia and bronchitis when he was actually brutally killed.

The source said the police were considerate with the lives of the miners and allowed the Doctor in question to probably attend to the emergencies if the need be.

The named doctor would be picked today if all went according to the schedule of the investigating team.

The source said senior police officers in Chingola seemed worried with investigations an indications that they could have received inducements to conceal the case; the situation that had slightly hampered the investigations.
