Goneos, others defect to PF
PETER Goneos a Chililabombwe Business Executive and former Chililabombwe Constituency MMD vice chairperson on Sunday led a group of defectors from various political parties to the ruling party.
Mr Goneos said he had joined the ruling party not because of a personal gain but because of his desire to assist the poor in society.
He said he had not asked for any favour or political position for him to join but was made to do so after the revelation by security wings of how MMD top officials had plundered the national resources.
“”I wish to pledge my support to PF Government and I believe that in order to foster progress as a national we need the working Government. The 2013 PF budget is poor people friendly,” he said
Mr Goneos has been involved in various developmental projects in Chililabombwe having served at the district health and education boards respectively.
And in receiving the defectors were PF member of the Central Committee Timothy Walamba, Provincial Minister Mwenya Musenge and Gender Deputy Minister Esther Banda who is also Chililabombwe Member of Parliament.
Mr Walalmba said for people to join the PF which means they had seen how the party was working for the people.
He urged the PF members to embrace the defectors and if possible allow them take up some positions in the spirit of blending each others.
He said some members from the other political parties were intelligent hence the need to co-adopt them in the working committees to tap such vast expertise.
The two Ministers urged the defectors to feel free in contributing to the current Government in an effort to develop the national.
