CHililabombwe's Goneos joins PF
CHILILABOMBWE’s Peter Goneos has resigned from the MMD to join the ruling Patriotic Front.
Speaking in an interview Mr Goneos said he joined the PF because he was ready to work with the Government of the day in developing the country.
He said as a Zambian he preferred to be involved in poverty reduction and improving the lives of the people in the country.
Mr Goneos said he joined the PF for the benefit of the people and not for personal gain.
He said the MMD top leadership in Lusaka had been disappointing with the recent revelation of the plunder of the nation.
Mr Goneos said the grassroots was working hard to deliver to the people but the leadership seemed too busy enriching them.
He said the PF mean well and I would be part of the delivering team.
“I wish to pledge my allegiance to the PF Government. I believe that it is important to support the Government of the day in order to foster peaceful development and progress which we all need.
“The policies spelled out by the President are poor people friendly and as such, should be supported by every patriotic Zambian irrespective of the political affiliation,” he said
Me Goneos said as a resident of Chililabombwe he would continue to be involved in the district project and support the local situation to improve the lives of people.
And to show his desire to deliver to the people of Chililabombwe Mr Goneos had donated a piece of land for the purpose of building a new police post in Kakoso ward.
The land donated is located on the borders of Tiyende Pamodzi Road and Kakoso ward.
Mr Goneos said the donation of the plot would help to reduce and curb crime Chililabombwe.
